Congratulations! to Ben on his outstanding performances at the NAMM Convention! As you may know Ben was selected for this event as a result of his JOC entry in 2005. He has been placed in the Yamaha International Junior Original Concert Program. Yamaha sent professional musicians to his house in November, December, and January to instruct and rehearse with him. When we got to California there were more rehearsals at the YCA headquarters. And then the performance at NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants.) This year’s convention hosted 87,000 people – the largest convention ever held at the Anaheim Convention center. I was invited to luncheon with the heads of the IJOC Foundation from Japan They expressed their delight with Ben’s piece and performance. While we were in California, Ben was also chosen to record his composition to be entered in the JOC auditions for Japan.
